Samurai Saws
Advanced Blade - FA / SR / JS Series
Small Teeth
Below 240mm length saw with 2.5mm gap between the teeth (S type) is
recommended for cutting small branches less than 10cm diameter. Due to the
distance between the teeth, this saw works especially for precision pruning
such as grafting.
Impulse Hardened Teeth
Hardness: 900HV - 950HV (HRC 67 - 68 degrees) Impulse hardening: The razor sharp edges combined with impulse hardening make for the teeth that will last three times longer than conventional teeth and it is most suitable for cutting tough dry wood.
Friction Minimized
Cross-section of saw blade showing relationship between blade and material being cut. Friction is minimized by the tapering of the blade.

USAGE
Any type of wood-natural wood, synthetic wood, plywood, drywall board, etc.
Hollow Ground with Standard Set Tooth Pattern
A hollow ground blade means that the tooth edge is thicker than the top of the blade, as per diagram (a), this makes the normal set of a blade unnecessary. The main advantage of this design is the reduction of friction when cutting and a superior cut, similar to that of a planed surface. (see diagram (b)). The term Standard set refers to the angle of teeth, which is the same along the full length of the blade. This blade has been impulse hardened and will last three times longer than a conventional none impulse hardened blade. (see diagram (c)).
Diagram (a) - Taper Ground Blade
Computer controlled grinding machines produce Taper-Ground blades with greater thickness on the teeth edge making the set of the teeth unnecessary.
Diagram (b) - Cuts like a knife
Hard chrome plated finish is rust proof, friction free and produces a smooth cut surface similar to a planed surface. Teeth are sharpened by whetstone to produce a super sharp cutting edge far superior to the cut of saws with teeth sharpened by conventional filing. The sharpness is equal to that of a high quality knife.
Diagram (c) - Impulse hardened teeth
Permanently filed teeth have been subjected to precision controlled electronic impulses (Impulse hardening); which heat and harden only the cutting edge of each individual tooth, making sure the razor sharp cutting edge stays sharp cut after cut. Typically an impulse hardened blade will last three times longer than a conventional none impulse hardened blade.
